Update: Steel arrives at Eastham!

June 30, 2015

After a slow start due to a long winter, steel finally arrives at Eastham. Once all of the structural steel is in place, framing will begin at the lower level.

OEA in Library Journal

Principals Matt Oudens and Conrad Ello both received mention in a recent Library Journal article summarizing the Design Institute hosted in Boston last December. As sponsors of the event, OEA led a workshop analyzing the Kingston Public Library as a case study for library expansion and renovation. In the workshop OEA presented Kingston Library's current challenges along with three architectural approaches to expand the Library's square footage. With the snow finally melting, work continues at Eastham. The formwork is up and foundations are being poured.

Update: Scituate Town Library

February 19, 2015

On February 17 the OEA team and Scituate Town Library Director, Jessi Finnie, along with OPM Joeseph Sullivan of Daedalus, presented the latest renderings of the proposed renovation and addition to the Library to the Scituate Town Selectmen meeting. The design was well received, along with the news that the project is on budget and schedule for a July ground breaking. A full write up can be found here at the Patriot Ledger.

OEA Sponsors Library Journal Design Institute's 2014 Boston Event

December 15, 2014

In partnership with the Boston Public Library and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, the Library Journal Design Institute hosted the New Face of the Library event on December 5th. The design and library building event invited librarians, architects, and product vendors to discuss critical topics which included shrinking collections, product trends, and collaborative, maker spaces. Oudens Ello Architecture was a sponsor for the event while also participating in the library design challenge sessions and the expert panel forums.
