Mystic Seaport Museum
Renovations Completed in 2009
In 2009, Mystic Seaport brought on a new management team to operate Latitude 41°, a three-story, 20,000 square foot riverfront restaurant and meeting facility in Mystic, Connecticut. Oudens Ello Architectural was hired as architectural advisor during renovations to the dated, 1960s-era building formerly known as the Seamen’s Inne. With a fixed budget and tight schedule, the Mystic Seaport Facilities Department, OEA and the Coastal Gourmet Group quickly established a collaborative working group that relied on a series of on-site working meetings to prioritize decisions and develop on-the-spot creative and cost-effective solutions. Primary focus was on cosmetic improvements to the public spaces as well as critical mechanical and electrical upgrades.
